Full day Guiding: $550 – $650 (8-10 hrs)

Half day Guiding: $300 – $350 (4-5 hrs)

Prices are based on fly fishing local taupo rivers for one or two people and include all equipment and refreshments. Prices are available upon request for larger group bookings or summer back country fishing.

Raft fishing and Heli fishing back country rivers is available and will be priced on time of year and desired location of adventure.

Cancellation Policy

If you cancel your booking less than 24 hours prior to the arranged pick up time then there is a fee of 50% of the cost of package you booked. For cancellations earlier than 24 hours before arranged pick up time that is no fee.

Tongariro River Motel Angler’s Special

Tongariro River Motel is easily one of the most frequented motels in Turangi and is located only metres away from world famous fishing pools such as the Judges pool and Major Jones. Ross and Pip Baker are great hosts and will make your stay so memorable you will not want to leave. All units are spacious and set out perfectly to suit families or the lone traveler with fly fishing on the mind. Units are fully furnished with full kitchen facilities and double or single beds. There are great hot showers to warm up in after a day on the river and Sky TV to fall asleep in front of.

Ross at Tongariro River Motel is a keen angler and has made sure that all rooms are set up for anglers with plenty of reading material, trout on the wall and wall-mounted rod hangers so you are never too far away from the thought of fly fishing even when you are relaxing.

All guests are welcome to use the fish cleaning and smoking facilities or put their catch in the freezer to take away with them.

A great package deal has been created to make things easy for you and get you on the river asap.

This package includes all fishing equipment, fishing license , lunch and refreshments. All you have to do is ring and book and I will sort out the rest.

Turangi Trout Lodge Elite Angler’s Package

Turengi Trout Lodge is a beautiful spacious lodge aimed at families or groups of up to five people that want to relax and enjoy the activities that Turangi and the surrounding area have to offer. Fly fishing is obviously the best and most exciting thing to do in Turangi (of course I may be a little biased) and that’s why we have put together this package, so the discerning angler can experience the comfort of a classy lodge and learn the art of fly fishing for hard-fighting wild trout.

The landscaped garden backs onto the world famous Tongariro river and after a hard day fishing you can unwind with a drink on the balcony overlooking the renowned Major Jones pool or relax in the luxurious spa bath.

This upper Tongariro opens for angling every year on the 1st of December and is only really accessible via the river. Rafting allows anglers to get into untouched water to fish for resident and spawning fish. December and January are popular months with anglers as the upper river holds huge numbers of trout at this time of year due to late spawning fish from Lake Taupo. You get to choose between one or two days on the river. With the two day trip option we camp out on the banks of the river, under the stars, creating a fantastic wilderness raft fishing expedition. This is a great activity to do if you are a fly fishing enthusiast wanting peace and solitude and/or if you are looking for an adventure fishing trip combining an awesome ride down many exciting rapids with beautiful scenery and of course excellent fishing.

All packages can be tailored to suit larger groups or those wanting to stay a little longer. If you are an overseas visitor and are flying into Auckland or Hamilton or any other out-of-town location let me know and pick up can be arranged so you don’t need to worry about finding your way to us.
